It is the unit that enables a new plant to form as a result of fertilization. In other words, it is the unit a plant produces to continue its lineage.

A seed potato is plant material with the ability to grow and reproduce, used for propagating plants either vegetatively or generatively. In potatoes, the seed potato refers to the underground tubers, which are vegetative organs of the potato plant.

Seed production encompasses all activities related to the breeding, registration, production, preparation, distribution, inspection, and sale of seeds. In our view, it is the art of Doğa.

When seeds are certified, they undergo specific analyses and inspections. According to the potato certification regulations, certified seed potatoes are free from harmful diseases that could contaminate the soil, damage your crop, or reduce yield. In uncertified seeds, there is always a risk of harmful agents affecting both the soil and your crop. In such cases, the farmer may suffer significant losses, and the national impact can also be substantial.

What We Do

  • We have an annual breeding capacity of 50,000 varieties.
  • In our tissue culture laboratory, we produce 800,000 potato plantlets annually.

  • We have a 3-decare controlled greenhouse for R&D activities and a 5.5-decare controlled greenhouse for seed production.

  • Each year, we register at least 5 new potato varieties. Turkey’s first native potato varieties!

  • In our gene bank, we have 72 virus-free varieties that we developed ourselves.

  • We produce seed potatoes on 4,150 decares of land across 6 different regions.

  • We produce seed potatoes at an altitude of over 1,000 meters.
